35-min Workshop on Zoom Instructor: Rufus Choi In this workshop, I will share my understanding of tone, timing, and phrasing. Three key aspects of piano performance that greatly separate a pianist from a pianist. We will explore various techniques for producing different tones on the piano. This will include “how to think” techniques for adjusting the speed and release of your fingers to produce a vast range of distance and size. We will delve into the importance of timing and its dependence on the given tone, which in turn gives the pianist limitless freedom in designing a beautiful phrase. These techniques will then allow you the ability to express from your heart and create music - a universal language, a language of feelings. *Participants are encouraged to play excerpts of pieces in the workshop. *More class info will be emailed once registered and paid. *Payment Instruction: either send a check made out to Salit Conservatory of Music (11635 La Maida St. North Hollywood, CA 91601), or online payment via Zelle (email@example.com).
